Traditional handmade copper coffee pot (ibrik).
Greek coffee is also known as Turkish coffee, Armenian coffee and with other names. This particular ibrik is made of copper which is tin-lined internally. Tin lining is used to prevent the contact of water with the copper, which can cause oxidation. Copper is more heat-conductive than steel which means that it heats faster. The long wooden handle is particularly useful to avoid burning your hands while making coffee. The rim is specially designed to serve the coffee without spilling. Volume 2 dl.
