Country pan in carbon steel for searing, and browning meat. Excellent for frying large amounts of potatoes and vegetables.
The black colour of the surface is due to thermal treatment and a temporary protection against oxidation; the pan is not coated.
Thickness 2 mm for optimal heat distribution. Handle of tempered strip steel with hight temperature resistance. Suitable for all stovetops, grill and oven.
Seasoning will give the pan natural non-stick properties.
De Buyer have produced carbon-steel pans in the same factory since 1830!
